Our Board of Directors are a group of passionate volunteers who believe in the mission of Bridge and help oversee the success of the organization. Each board member is an advocate and supporter of our kids. With the support of a strong and engaged Board of Directors, Bridge looks forward to great things.

Robert black | BOARD MEMBER

Robert Black is a Senior Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Robert began his career as a Financial Advisor after graduating college in 1998, quickly building a successful practice at Merrill Lynch. He then served as a Senior Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor with both UBS and Morgan Stanley before returning to his roots at Merrill in 2016. Robert is a graduate of Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business. Robert’s passion for lacrosse began at a young age and he continued to play the sport into his college years. Robert was able to pass on his love of the game to his children. He and his wife, Jennifer, have a son and daughter who are both lacrosse players. The family has been loyal supporters of Bridge Lacrosse since learning about its mission in 2019. Their son, Tripp was a member of the Bridge Leadership Board for 4 years. Their daughter, Kate, is continuing the legacy as the newest leadership board member.

lee burton | Treasurer

Lee is the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for Sammons Corporation (of Sammons Enterprises, a diversified holding company headquartered in Dallas, Texas). Lee received a BBA from Baylor University and a MBA from Southern Methodist University. Lee is a CPA and has 25+ years experience in various roles in accounting and finance. He and his wife Cricket have three children Mark (’14 St. Mark’s School of Texas), Frances (’16 The Hockaday School) and John (’19 St. Mark’s School of Texas). The children have all played lacrosse and Frances and John have both been members of the Leadership Board. Lee is also active with Wesley Rankin Community Center where he is the past treasurer and continues to serve on the board of directors. Lee and Cricket (and family) feel strongly the contributions that Bridge Lacrosse makes to the Dallas community are admirable and very worthy of their support.

Chris Creedon | BOARD MEMBER

Chris Creedon serves as the Vice President of the McKinney Lacrosse Association, where his five children play. He has been a youth coach for five years and a summer coach for Coast2Coast U-13 team. Chris has supported the tripling in size of McKinney lacrosse in the past five years and has been a vital advocate for promoting both the sport and many of the same values, teamwork and respect, that Bridge also represents. Chris is Vice President for TruSouth Oil, makers of new TruFuel premixed fuel for small engines. Originally from Stanford, CT. and a graduate from Tulane University, Chris also spent 13 years with Dr. Pepper/Snapple, most recently as Vice President of Marketing. In the past he has also served with the March of Dime in Los Angeles, heading up Winefest, while co-charing WalkAmerica.

Jason Detweiler | BOARD MEMBER

Jason is a Territory Sales Representative at Cardinal Health. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 2008 with a B.S. in Political Science. He moved to Dallas in 2013 and joined Bridge as a volunteer coach for the St. Philip's Saints in 2014. Prior to joining Bridge Jason played midfielder at Illinois and coached JV at Libertyville High School. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kappa Kappa Chapter of Sigma Chi. Jason is a believer in the mission and impact of Bridge and enjoys giving back to the youth of the Dallas through lacrosse.

sean duffy | BOARD president

Sean Duffy is Executive Vice President, Fuels for 7‑Eleven, Inc. He is also a member of 7‑Eleven’s Executive Committee. Sean joined the company in 2008 as Vice President of Fuels. Prior to joining 7‑Eleven, Duffy worked for Mobil Oil and ExxonMobil for 19 years in various operations, planning and franchise leadership roles. Duffy graduated from Union College (NY), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in managerial economics. Sean has three kids who all participated with Bridge as volunteers.

karla garcia | board member

Karla Garcia is a proud native of Southeast Dallas and a product of Dallas Independent School District schools. A proud daughter of immigrants, her parents came to the United States from Guanajuato, Mexico with a dream of a bright future for their children. Her parents’ strong desire for her to obtain a college education propelled her to attend Irma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, the first public all-girls magnet school in the state of Texas. After graduating high school she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she studied public policy and entrepreneurship. Karla currently works for Dallas County Promise an initiative of Commit!. In addition, she is the youngest ever Latina ever elected to Dallas ISD school board, and is the trustee for District 4.

david hamill | Board member

David has invested deeply in youth development. He is a retired architect who was previously a sole practitioner as well as a partner at Elliott & Hamill Architects for 14 years. David was raised in Houston and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He is a former Cub Master/Scout Master and former Commissioner of the Texas High School Lacrosse League. He is married, and the father of two sons and four grandchildren, He and his family has received many benefits from their association with the lacrosse community and he is thrilled with the potential for a more professional chapter in his effort to support youth development in East Austin.

Shari hicks | board member

Shari Hicks recently joined JP Morgan Chase as the Executive Director for Community Impact Team where she leads the implementation of local strategies for the firm’s $30 billion commitment to advance racial equity for Black and Hispanic communities. Shari is an accomplished executive who seamlessly blends her uniquely diverse background in finance, marketing, public relations, and strategy development to yield maximum results for her stakeholders and the teams she leads. In addition to holding leadership roles at two regional banks, she has an extensive background in public relations, organizational design and change management. Her creativity and commitment to world class excellence make her a highly sought after thought leader. Her civic commitment is shown through her volunteer service and board appointments with various nonprofit organizations throughout the DFW area. Shari holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Public Affairs from the University of North Texas.

Channie Hopkins | Board Member

Channie is a native of Dallas and has worked for the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Urban League and The Sixth Floor Museum. Each of the these organizations have had great success in fund raising, Channie brought with her these skills and others to our Bridge Family. Since joining Bridge, the parents of the Bridge Saints 6th grade team raised close to $500 for coaches gifts, and she was instrumental in partnering with the Mark Cuban Foundation and equipment donations.

Bob Jones | BOARD MEMBER

Bob is a partner in the law firm of Holland & Knight, where he primarily represents funds, banks, and other capital providers. Bob was one of the founding partners of Holland & Knight’s Dallas office, which opened in July, 2013. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and then graduated from Stanford Law School. Bob is a long-time supporter of youth sports, and formerly served on the board of directors of the North Dallas Chamber Baseball League. He and his wife Lori have two children, Reagan, who attends St. Mark’s (class of 2018), and Natalie, who attends Hockaday (class of 2019). Both Reagan and Natalie have been avid lacrosse players for years, and both play for their school teams. Bob, Lori, Reagan and Natalie all believe very strongly in the mission of Bridge Lacrosse, and all have seen firsthand the impact of this program in our community.

pam pluss | Board member

Pam Pluss is a longtime supporter and friend of Bridge Lacrosse. She first became involved with Bridge when her son, Henry, collected lacrosse equipment for our boys teams. Since then, Pam has given endless time and resources to our youth and mission. She currently serves as a Board Member for the JCC and the Geometric and MADI Museum, in addition to serving on multiple committees and events at the Greenhill School. Pam also worked as the Director of Marketing for the Zale Corporation and Sports Supply Group. She received her MBA from SMU and has a BA in Mathematics from Colorado College. Pam is an avid tennis and pickleball player and lives in Dallas with her husband, Steven.

gabe sepulveda | board member

Gabe is a longtime supporter and volunteer of New Horizons Lacrosse, first becoming involved in early 2019. He has a deep background in the sport of lacrosse, helping to co-found his high school team and later attending the University of Texas at Austin and joining their club lacrosse team. Gabe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government both the University of Texas at Austin and Masters of Public Administration from Texas State University. Prior to joining New Horizons, Gabe coached youth lacrosse for nearby Westlake Lacrosse Club for a decade. Gabe works as a government affairs professional and has an extensive background in public policy and advocacy. He and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their first child.

lottie taylor | Board member

Lottie Taylor has been involved with Bridge as a parent for more than 8 years, where her son was a participant at St. Philip’s School and Community Center. Lottie has generously given her time to many Bridge teams and events, and is consistently one of the biggest volunteers within the organization. Lottie currently resides in Lancaster and works for Lincoln Harris.
